April 13th, 2024, the first day of China International Consumer Products Expo (Hainan Expo 2024), the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC) and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Haikou Sub-council co-hosted the Conference on Italy-Haikou Economic and Trade Cooperation in Haikou. A total of about 100 representatives from the Haikou business community, Italian exhibitors and entrepreneurs, with the presence of the Consulate General of Italy and the ITA Italian Trade Agency have attended the conference to for furthering economic and trade exchanges and two-way investment between the two places.
During the event, Mr. Valerio De Parolis, Consul General of Italy in Guangzhou, Renzo Isler, the Secretary-General of the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce, Chen Jinsong, Vice mayor of the Haikou Government, Chen Zhengcan, the director of CCPIT, the Consul General of Italy in Guangzhou all delivered speeches.
Representatives of China-Italy Chamber of Commerce Logistics and IQLC Working Groups, representatives of Longhua District, Haikou Integrated Bonded Area, Haikou Fullsing Internet Industrial Park, Haikou Duty Free Shopping Mall have respectively introduced their speeches and presentations.
The discussions focused on strengthening trade relations between Italy and Hainan, exploring potential business opportunities, and discussing ways to facilitate the entry and operation of Italian enterprises in Hainan. The participants recognized the mutual benefits of increased economic engagement and agreed to explore further areas of cooperation.
It is believed that there will be more and more friendly exchanges and cooperation between the two sides in the future. The Event was concluded with friendly free discussion and networking.

CICC and CCPIT Haikou are optimistic about expansion in trade and investment and other development opportunities for both sides.
