CICC Suzhou Office Visits Foreign Affairs Office of Changzhou and Changzhou Bureau of Commerce

Dear Members and Friends of CICC,

On November 4th, 2020, the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce Suzhou Office paid an official visit to the Foreign Affairs Office of Changzhou Municipal People’s Government and Changzhou Bureau of Commerce.

Mr. Riccardo Campanile, CICC Board Member Suzhou and Ms. Sarah Tian, Suzhou Office Coordinator met with the Foreign Affairs Office of Changzhou and Changzhou Bureau of Commerce in order to build and enhance communication, to get more familiar with the business community in Changzhou, and to jointly taking care of the members and friends of CICC, as well as other Italian companies that are located in Greater Changzhou Area.

Mr. Zhu Hui, Deputy Director of Changzhou Bureau of Commerce welcomed CICC by sharing that the first friendship city relationship that Changzhou established is with Prato, Italy on June 6th, 1986.

Mr. Zhu introduced Changzhou’s geographical location in the integration of the Yangtze River Delta, and he also highlighted that Changzhou is already a cluster of manufacturing companies, especially strong local manufacturing companies that can provide a solid foundation for the supply chain.

Mr. Campanile opened the introduction of CICC by sharing with Changzhou Bureau of Commerce CICC’s strong focus on manufacturing,  and he also expressed that Changzhou is a preferred location for Italian companies relocating or starting new projects thanks to the favourable policies, strong support from local government, and existing supply chain in the manufacturing sector.

He also expressed CICC’S strong will to provide more service to the Italian community in Changzhou and enhance cooperation with Changzhou.

Ms. Tian presented the CICC and what Suzhou Chapter is doing.  Ms. Willa Song, Chief of Service Division for Foreign-invested Enterprises, Mr. Luo Qingyan, Director of Changzhou International Investment Promotion Center, and Ms. Fabrizia Zhou, Office Director of Changzhou International Investment Promotion Center also attended the meeting.

Mr. Du Jibin, Director of Foreign Affairs Office of Changzhou, and Ms. Lori Min, Director of Division of European and African Affairs met with Mr. Campanile and Ms. Tian.

Both the Foreign Affairs Office of Changzhou and Changzhou Bureau of Commerce and CICC agreed to strengthen communication and exchange to jointly support Italian companies operating in Changzhou, the business community, as well as the bilateral cooperation between China and Italy.

CICC will carry out more cooperation with Changzhou such as organising more events in Changzhou.

Mr. Campanile and Ms. Tian also met with Friend of CICC: Changzhou National High-Tech District Investment Promotion Bureau and visited some members in Changzhou.
