Visa Legislation and Developments in China | Inter-Chamber SME Working Group Meeting

Companies have experienced difficulties obtaining visa for foreign interns as a number of years of work experience are required. However, this policy seems to be changing in Shanghai now in order to attract global talent. Shanghai has recently approved the first work permit for an international student who has just graduated. Experienced professionals, on the other hand, still have encountered difficulties getting work visa in China in many cases.

It’s important for companies and individual professionals to understand what new policies mean and how relevant procedures should be followed in practice.

For this purpose, the EU SME Centre and the European Union Chamber of Commerce SME Forum are inviting you to this Inter-Chamber SME Working Group meeting.

About the Speaker

Tina Li, Senior Associate, Taylor Wessing Shanghai Representative Office

Tina has extensive experience on a wide range of labor issues, including hiring and termination, employer’s rules and regulations, mass layoffs, wage and working hour arrangements, global mobility and employee transition issues in M&A transactions.
Tina has been working in Taylor Wessing since 2006. She obtained her LLB and LLM from one of the top Chinese universities. In 2005, Tina was admitted to the Chinese bar. Tina is one of the co-authors of the International Employment Newsletter of Taylor Wessing.

The Inter-Chamber Small and Medium-sized Enterprise (SME) Working Group was established in 2014 as a new advocacy element of EU SME Centre Phase II with the objective of strengthening advocacy for EU SMEs. The Inter-Chamber SME Working Group is based on the existing Small and Medium-sized Enterprise (SME) Forum of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, bringing together European SMEs and creating a strong channel to express concerns and report challenges they face in conducting business in China.
