The China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC) is enthusiastically supporting a special event prompted by the Politecnico di Torino in Shanghai on Thursday, September 9.
Politecnico di Torino, also recognized as PoliTO, was the first Italian Engineering School founded in 1859 in the wave of the technical and scientific innovation that gave rise to the most prestigious European polytechnic schools in the mid-19th century.
Today is one of the most reputed technical universities in Europe training engineers, architects, designers and urban planners involved in all societal changes and innovations.
In more recent times, PoliTO and China have shared a special relationship, thanks to the large number of Chinese students enrolled in their programs and the various forms of collaboration still ongoing with several Chinese universities.
In 2017, PoliTO established a China Center with the purpose of promoting and facilitating relations and communications with Chinese institutions, different administrations and enterprises, while developing new projects and strategic partnerships.
In addition, in order to raise awareness about the excellence of Politecnico di Torino on Chinese soil, the PoliTO China Alumni Association (PCAA) was founded, chaired by Luca Borsano, Product Engineering Director at NAVECO (participated by the Italian IVECO) in Nanjing.
The Association currently relies on a community of about 2.000 Chinese alumni who have taken courses in engineering and architecture at the Politecnico's campuses and numerous Italian alumni currently working in China.
PCAA has established Alumni branches in more than ten cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Harbin, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Xi'an.
The PCAA is organizing its first PoliTO China Alumni Convention 2023 titled Sustainability Urbanization: how smart should Cities be? hoping to attract a large audience at the event and the subsequent aperitif.
Chairman Luca Borsano will be in attendance, alongside with representatives of Italian Institutions, Tongji University, Wenzhou-Kean University and a special delegation from the alma mater, the Politecnico di Torino.
