On August 25th the new leadership of the CICC Mechanical Engineering Working Group (MEWG) held its first online meeting with around 30 participants among the working group members.
The meeting began with the official introduction of the newly elected leadership team for the 2022-24 term: group Coordinator Carlo Nizia, Risk Management of UFI FILTERS Shanghai, and Vice Coordinators Emilio Cassanelli, China VP of Industry Technology Suzhou Co., Ltd., Alberto Fochesato, APA Industry - Sales Director of Würth Industry Service (China) Co., Ltd., and Mirko Turrina, General Manager of Goglio (Tianjin) Packaging Co., Ltd.
The three Vice Coordinators will also act as group representatives for the different territories: Emilio Cassanelli for the Suzhou area, Alberto Fochesato for Shanghai and Mirko Turrina for the north of China.
An important topic discussed during the meeting was the activity plan for the second half of 2022. Many activities were proposed, including factory tours and foreign companies visits, exhibitions, webinars and networking events. Among the upcoming projects is the participation to the China International Industry Fair (CIIF) from September 26th-30th with an Italian Pavilion, organized by ITA - Italian Trade Agency and the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce, with the support of the Embassy of Italy to the P.R.C. and the Consulate General of Italy in Shanghai, to showcase Italian quality and expertise in this sector. In conjunction with the fair, the second Week of Italian Mechanical Engineering in China (WIMEC) will also be held. More details on the program will be shared soon.
Last but not least, this first meeting of the MEWG also provided the opportunity to launch the WeChat Mini Program of the group, a database created to bring together the Italian companies operating in the mechanical engineering field in China.
