The China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC) and the EU SME Centre are glad to invite you to the webinar “How to Minimise Risks of Scams” on August 31st 2022 from 4:00 - 5:00 pm, Beijing Time.
BACKGROUND
Considering the increasing number of inquiries received by the EU SME Centre from SMEs who have been scammed by their business partners in China, the EU SME Centre published an article titled 'Simple steps to minimise risks of being scammed when purchasing from China'. Despite the challenges posed by the global pandemic and the concurring sporadic lockdowns throughout China, many EU SMEs continue to be interested in sourcing products from China. But finding the right partner is not an easy task, especially not from the distance, while facing language barriers. In fact, many EU SMEs report encountering significant issues with purchases from China. Although commercial disputes might arise from genuine circumstances, cases of scams from Chinese suppliers remain very frequent.
Our speakers will focus on recent cases of scams encountered by EU SMEs, explaining how to easily identify scammers and avoid falling victim to their mischievous schemes, and steps SMEs can take after falling victim to scams.
