The China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC) is pleased to inform you that the first Sichuan-Chongqing Housing and Urban-Rural Development Expo (hereafter referred to as "Housing Expo") organized by Sichuan Provincial Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and Chongqing Municipal Commission of Housing and Urban-Rural Development opened on June 23 at Chengdu Century City New International Convention and Exhibition Center.
The CICC and the Consulate General of Italy in Chongqing jointly built the Italian National Pavilion and assisted in hosting the Italian Design Day (Chengdu Station). In the Italian National Pavilion, there are three members of the CICC: n! Studio International Architectural Office, Hainan Eolo Culture& Creative Co., Ltd. and Xunica Design Co., Ltd.
The aim of the Housing Expo is to fully implement the major strategy of Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle's development as well as to show the achievements of Sichuan and Chongqing's high-quality life. It promotes the incubation of major Sichuan-Chongqing housing construction projects and the transformation of scientific and technological achievements. It also acts as an important platform for industry, trade, capital, and talent exchanges.
On June 23, the 2021 International Forum on Development and Cooperation in Urban-Rural Development and Italian Design Day（Chengdu Station）were held in the Chengdu Century City New International Convention and Exhibition Center.
Mr. Emanuele de Maigret, Minister Counsellor, Deputy Head of Mission and Head of the Economic and Commercial Office of the Embassy of Italy to the P.R.C., attended the event and gave a speech. He stressed that the Italian Design Day is an important event promoted all over the world by the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism, and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
As the “Ambassador” of Italian Design Day 2021, Mr. Aldo Cingolani, CEO of Bertone Design, shared his vision of urban planning, architectural design, scientific and technological innovation. Later, Mr. Lorenzo Gonzo, Science and Technology Counsellor of the Consulate General of Italy in Chongqing, hosted the roundtable forum and Q&A session. Mr. Aldo Cingolani, CEO of Bertone Design, Mr. Marco de Battista, Designer and Architect, Ph.D. in Green Building Engineering, B.E.S.T. department, Mr. Massimo Bagnasco, Partner & Managing Director of Progetto CMR (Beijing) Architectural Design Consultants Co., Ltd., Ms. Michela Di Maria, Operation Manager of New Crazy Colors (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., and Mr. Wang Ming, Sales Director of Legrand China, participated in an in-depth debate on the theme “Sustainable Project and Materials: New challenges for ‘Made in Italy’ to reboot".
The Expo will last until June 25. CICC looks forward to your participation in the Italian National Pavilion.
