Appointment of Chairman Davide Cucino as member of China Advisory Council

In the framework of the Understanding China Programme, the EC project lead by Eurochambres, with the aim to improve the knowledge of China of European businesses, especially SMEs, a pool of experts in China affairs has been created in order to advise the EC about the Europe-China relations.

One element of the Understanding China programme is therefore to, through a targeted training programme, create a network of China experts in EU business intermediary organisations. This ‘train the trainer’ approach will ensure that its impact is multiplied and that a large number of companies will benefit from higher quality services and up-to-date information from their business organisations.

The China Advisory Council (CAC) will be an advisory body to the European Commission, European business and other key European stakeholders on European economic policy vis-à-vis China. The CAC’s mail role will be to:
 
- act as a sounding board for the EC on SME related topics
- provide a forum of relevant stakeholders to discuss current developments in China 
- give advice and make recommendations on economic questions regarding China (with a special focus on SME business and trade related issues)
- make suggestions on the development of the programme
- provide input and/or initiate discussions on the intelligence hub
- provide suggestions for the conference themes
- suggest speakers for events
