The Board of Directors of the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce met today, May 17th 2022.
After a brief introduction by the Chairman Mr Paolo Bazzoni, Ms Renata Pavlov, Representative of the CICC at the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China (EUCCC), took the floor and shared the most important updates that recently concerned the European Chamber.
Mr Bazzoni then recalled the overall strategies that guide the CICC’s actions, namely:
• further development of the membership base;
• further strengthening of the Chamber’s presence in the territories, with active collaborations with local commercial institutions;
• provision of efficient and valuable services able to best meet the needs of our Members and Friends.
The Chairman then underlined that “the recent measures to contain the pandemic in China, especially in Shanghai and Beijing, as well as the resulting low internal mobility, require a series of targeted measures to support our businesses.” To this end, the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce is carrying out the following initiatives:
1.We have launched advocacy actions towards Chinese counterparts both at national and local level to increase awareness of the main needs of our companies;
2.We are launching new initiatives, such as "Italy Meets China", with the aim of strengthening our presence and activities in the areas with greater potential, by acting in close synergy with all the players of the Sistema Italia;
3.We are increasing promotional actions through our Working Groups;
4.We are expanding our contacts with trade associations representing SMEs in Italy and China.
"The Chamber will continue to act as a central part of the Sistema Italia, providing information, data and know-how that can help our companies, both those already located in China and those that are planning to start business in the country. Especially SMEs, in an extremely difficult time for everyone." highlighted Chairman Bazzoni.
The meeting then focused on the various territories of China where the CICC carries out its actions. Mr Matteo Tanteri - Vice Chairman for North China, Mr Gaetano Cantalupo - Vice Chairman for East China, Mr Giacomo Bove - Board Member in Suzhou, Mr Gianluca Luisi - Vice Chairman for Southwest China, and Mr Raphael Paul Cooper - Vice Chairman for South China, offered updates on the Chamber's main initiatives and targets in their territories.
