Despite representing only 6% of China’s population, the GBA contributes approximately 11% to the country’s GDP.    As a key pillar of China’s development strategy, the GBA seeks to enhance both regional and international cooperation, drive high-quality growth through innovation, and strengthen connectivity across its cities. The ultimate vision is to position the GBA as a globally significant economic powerhouse, on par with the San Francisco Bay Area and the Tokyo Bay Area. Each city within the GBA boasts unique strengths. Shenzhen is a global hub for technology and innovation. Cities such as Dongguan, Foshan, and Huizhou play crucial roles in advanced manufacturing and industrial development.  As such, the Greater Bay Area (GBA) presents a wealth of opportunities for European SMEs.
