Dear CICC Members and Friends,

The seminar “Corporate Data Management and VPN: New Rules Under Cybersecurity Law of PRC”, organized by CICC Guangzhou and hosted by Valentino Lucini from Wang Jing & Co. Law Firm, was successfully held in Shenzhen on 6th March.

The seminar was divided into two parts and provided the audience with a general overview on Corporate Data Management for foreign and local companies operating in China, with a glimpse of VPN usage under recent reforms.

In the first part the speaker gave us a accurate introduction of the latest released Cyber Security Law in China, then he went through the details of corporate data management transferring, providing the audience with a list of useful standards that should be aligned with for both corporate and individual users to avoid fines and penalties.

The second part was about the VPN, the speaker explained to the audience what VPN (Virtual Private Network) is, its functions and regulations in China according to the new law. We should choose only the legally authorized VPN providers, such as China Mobile etc., in order to obey the Chinese Cyber Security Law.

The event was a great success and the CICC would like to thank all participants who attended the seminar and look forward to seeing you in our next edition.
